The visits to the village and monastery, along with the initial wine tasting, were both pleasant and educational. “The guide who did the private tour with my husband and I was very sweet and genuine and went out of his way to facilitate a good day for my husband and I. We started the day with wine, brandy and chacha tasting, then travelled to the amazing Davit Gareji monastery. Following that, we tried churchkhela, followed by a stop in at a place making shoti bread in a tandoor-like pot. We ate the shoti bread with a kind of traditional Georgian cheese then headed on to the beautiful Bodbe St Nino's.
